Sustainability Report
During 2008 we formalised the internal management of sustainability within Sorouh and set about, for the first time, to report on our corporate sustainability performance. In 2009 we have built on this initiative while recognising the challenge and continued efforts required to successfully improve our sustainability performance and are proud to have made another step towards integrating sustainability into our business operations and improving Sorouh’s sustainability performance.
At Sorouh we’re trying to build sustainability into the way we do business and as part of the Abu Dhabi Sustainability Group, we have prepared the 2009 Sorouh Sustainability Report which is essentially a report on Sorouh’s sustainability credentials over the past two years.
The 2008 report was not only a first for Sorouh but it also a first for a property developer in Abu Dhabi. Sorouh was the first property developer in Abu Dhabi to complete a Sustainability Report which is in line with the Global Reporting Initiative Compliance and has been given an Independent Assurance Statement by Bureau Veritas.
This is a significant achievement. Both reports are a culmination of the Sorouh Sustainability Team, which is comprised of team members from across all Divisions in Sorouh as well as our Sustainability Consultants, Mott Macdonald.
